TEDCO was selected to construct this historic renovation of the former GC Murphy Building in Market Square Place, the retail center of downtown Pittsburgh. What was once 7 unused buildings falling into disrepair is now a functional 150,000 square foot single space with 46 residences, retail storefronts, and a YMCA.
The largest difficulty in this $21,000,000 project was connecting the buildings. When working with multiple construction types, code requirements needing rectified increase. The knitting together was a success, and the outside was restored to the facade it had in the 1930s.
A Green Building Alliance LEED Green building, Market Square Place retained 93% of the original building envelope, and 87% of the original structure.
Your company has done an outstanding job in managing all projects for which we contracted TEDCO. You have consistently provided quality work and always have acted in FreeMarkets’ best interest. Many of our projects were complicated and under tight time constraints. However, TEDCO completed all of our projects on time, within budget, and with quality workmanship.
