The Tudor architecture style, brought to Grove City in the early 1920s by the Olmstead brothers, was again utilized when building the new apartment-style student housing for the College. More specifically, Colonial Hall was built in the Arts & Crafts style of pre-war England, with a focus on craftsmanship and utility.
The semi-circle shape of this $12,000,000 residence has a twofold purpose. The internal space allows for student activities, and is an ideal event location as well. The exterior serves as a campus entry image, welcoming students while paying homage to the historic buildings that surround Colonial Hall.
Named after the previous Colonial Hall, which stood at the same location from 1904 to 1981, this 86,000 square feet dormitory has 240 beds, which are gender-split by the center building. This area includes Resident Assistant rooms, a lobby, lounges, study rooms, and a recreation room.

The project was over budget, and the architect was not presenting viable cost reduction options for consideration. TEDCO was immediately tasked with providing a menu list of priced out cost reduction options based on their experience with similar projects. We were pleased with the options which TEDCO presented to us, and TEDCO was able to complete the project on time and on budget in just under a year.
